Bowerham is Lancaster’s student hub, being close to the University of Cumbria in Lancaster, and a short bus ride away from the University of Lancaster. Known for its affordable rent prices and quiet streets, Bowerham is a nice area to settle in for your university life. It’s well-connected to Lancaster’s bus routes, so you can be in the city centre or to your university in no time.

City Centre
The historic City Centre is what makes Lancaster one of England’s Heritage Cities. Many of the centre’s landmarks are still standing, and walking down any street is like walking back through time! In addition to historical sites, the Lancaster City Centre is full of local shops and restaurants. This vibrant area is also home to many University of Cumbria and University of Lancaster students who want to be as close to the heart of the city as possible.

Fairfield
Fairfield is for the nature-lovers who still want a taste of Lancaster city life. Just to the west of the City Centre, Fairfield is known for its greenery and quiet streets. Although slightly further away from the city’s two main universities, Fairfield is home to the Fairfield Nature Preserve and not far from the train station. As a more residential area, Fairfield is a bit lacking in restaurants and shops, but the busy City Centre is easily accessible by bus.

Our Gladstone Terrace house is located in Freehold, where there’s no shortage of shops, restaurants, and supermarkets. The Market GateShopping Centre is a short walk away, as is Lancaster Canal.

Moorlands
Lancaster students love the Moorlands because it’s close to the University of Cumbria and the City Centre. With great local places like The White Cross bar and Hodgson’s Chippy, it’s easy to see why the Moorlands attract so many university students. There’s also plenty of green space with Scotch Quarry Urban Park and Williamson Park nearby.
